One year after India ended a 17-year drought by winning the T20 World Cup, Sharma recalled the thrilling final against South Africa at Kensington Oval.

The final match went down to the wire, with India ultimately holding their nerve to secure the championship. The victory wasn't just about the final game, but about an unblemished run throughout the tournament, where India displayed dominance and resilience.

One of the most memorable moments was the high-stakes clash between India and Pakistan.

"It wasn’t just a game," Sharma stated. "Two days before the match, we were locked in — tight security, fans everywhere, you could feel something special was coming. It felt like a festival had taken over.”

India prevailed over Pakistan by six runs in a tense, low-scoring affair. Jasprit Bumrah was named Player of the Match for his impressive performance, taking 3 wickets for just 14 runs.

Despite an early batting slump, with the quick dismissals of Kohli, Rohit, and Axar, Rishabh Pant's aggressive 42 runs off 31 balls helped India reach a total of 119.

"On that pitch, his 42 was like scoring 70," Sharma commented. "We knew 140 was par, but with our bowlers, even 119 could work.”

Sharma praised Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh for their effective execution of the game plan. “Bumrah is a weapon — he takes wickets and dries up runs. Arshdeep’s been brilliant too, and they were crucial in pushing the game in our favour.”

From the electric atmosphere of the India-Pakistan match to the tense final in Barbados, Sharma’s reflections highlight a team that created lasting memories for the nation.
