Akshay Kumar may be one of Bollywood’s top stars today, but he has always credited his humble beginnings for keeping his feet on the ground. The actor sat down with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia in a throwback podcast and revealed how he takes steps to keep himself connected to his roots, even in the hustle and bustle of stardom.Revisiting childhood homesThe actor shared that he makes it a point to revisit his old homes and school in Mumbai regularly, often early in the morning when the city is quiet. “In the morning, when I wake up at 4 am, I take out my car and visit the house where I used to live in Sion-Koliwada. Then I had a house in Bandra East; I go there. I visit my school. There is also a Don Bosco church; I also sometimes go inside. The watchman allows me. I feel good going when I go to my old house,” Akshay said.

Preserving memories through his old flatAkshay also revealed that he invested in his old rental flat, not for living, but to preserve his cherished memories. “The two-bedroom flat is being constructed. I have told them I want to buy it. I am not going to live there, but I will keep it. I still remember when my father used to return from his 9-6 job; my sister and I used to watch him coming home from the window of that house.
That visual is still there,” he recalled.

Adding a personal touch, he shared how even today he enjoys picking guavas from a tree near his old home. “I honestly want to be in touch with that. That is me. That is where I come from,” the actor added.

Akshay Kumar has a busy work schedule with several films lined up for the coming years.
